About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and [YOUR NAME], an independent developer based in [COUNTRY], who makes and runs Stash ("we", "us"). By using the Stash app or creating an account, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Stash.
How we handle your personal data is explained in the privacy policy.
The service
Stash is an app for capturing ideas by text, voice or photo and organising them into projects. With an account, your ideas are stored on our server and synced between your devices. Without an account, they stay on your phone only.
Stash is a small project run by one person. We do our best to keep it working and your data safe, but we can't promise that it will always be available, free of bugs or unchanged. Features may be added, changed or removed.
It's free
Stash costs nothing and has no ads, in-app purchases or subscriptions. If that ever changes, we will tell you in advance, and nothing will be charged without your clear agreement.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- Use an email address that is yours and that you can read: it is the only way to reset your password.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- An account is for one person.
- If you think someone else has access to your account, reset your password and tell us.
Your content
Everything you put into Stash (ideas, notes, links, photos and the rest) stays yours. We claim no ownership of it.
So that we can run the service, you give us permission to store, copy (including in backups), process and show your content to you, only as needed to provide Stash: for example, to sync it, to resize photos, and to fetch previews of links you add. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that remain in backups for up to 7 days.
You are responsible for your content and for having the right to store it. Keep your own copy of anything important: Settings → Data → Export makes one at any time.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- break the law with Stash, or store content that is illegal or that infringes other people's rights;
- upload malware or anything meant to harm devices or systems;
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or get around security measures or rate limits;
- overload, disrupt, scrape or attack the service, or use it in an automated way it wasn't built for;
- use Stash to store other people's personal data without a lawful reason;
- resell or redistribute the service.
Ending your use
You can stop using Stash at any time and delete your account in the app or by email.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where the law requires it. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you the chance to export your data.
If we ever shut Stash down, we will tell you by email at least 30 days in advance, so you have time to export your data.
No warranty
Stash is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about it beyond what these terms say, including that it will meet your needs, be uninterrupted or be error-free.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of Stash.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in these terms affects your rights as a consumer that cannot be waived.
App stores
If you downloaded Stash from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for Stash or its support; questions go to us.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when Stash changes or the law requires it. We will update the date at the top of this page and, for changes that matter, tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you don't agree with the new terms, you can stop using Stash and delete your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of [COUNTRY]. If you use Stash as a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.
