Delete your account

Last updated

You can delete your Stash account and everything in it at any time, in the app or by email. It can't be undone.

Have the app?

Open Settings and tap Delete account. It takes a minute, and your account is gone at once.

Steps in the app

No app, or forgot your password?

Email us from your account's address and we will delete everything within 30 days, usually much sooner.

Email a deletion request

Never made an account? There is nothing on our server to delete: just delete the app.

In the app

  1. Open Stash and sign in.
  2. On the Capture tab, tap the gear icon at the top to open Settings.
  3. If you want to keep a copy, tap Export JSON or Export Markdown under Data first.
  4. Tap Delete account.
  5. Enter your password and tap Delete.

Your account is deleted immediately, and every device signed in to it is signed out.

Forgot your password? Reset it first: on the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and we will email you a code. Or ask us by email, as below.

By email, without the app

  1. Send an email to support@prodstack.live from the email address of your Stash account, with the subject "Delete my Stash account".
  2. We may reply to confirm the request came from you. If you can no longer use that address, tell us and we will find another way to check.
  3. We delete the account and all of its data, and email you when it's done: within 30 days, usually much sooner.

What gets deleted

  • Your account: email address and password hash.
  • All of your ideas and projects, with their notes, tags, platforms, tech stack, links, features and sub-tasks.
  • Every photo you uploaded, deleted from the server's storage.
  • Your sign-in sessions on every device, and any password reset codes.

What stays for a short time

A few copies outlive the deletion briefly and are then removed automatically. We don't use them for anything else.

  • Backups of the database and of the photos are made every night and kept for 7 days. Your data can remain in them for up to 7 days after deletion, until they are overwritten.
  • Server access logs, which include IP addresses, are kept for 14 days.
  • Application logs are kept for about 7 days, and warnings and errors for 30 days.
  • Error reports from the app are kept for 30 days. Some carry your user ID, a random number that no longer leads to any account.
  • Emails you sent us are kept as described in the privacy policy.

Exports you saved yourself are yours to keep or delete.

Using Stash without an account

If you chose "Continue without an account", there is nothing on our server to delete: your ideas are stored only on your phone. Delete the app to remove them.
